"Öröm"

Classic onionskin color, spicy and luscious fruit fragrance, with cherry and raspberry flavours. The crunchy, vivid acidity give an extraordinary fresh and happy feeling to the wine.

Szekszárdi Kadarka Siller

Long time ago Siller was made to gain more colour out of Kadarka. A few days after the harvest a part of the must was separated from the skin, this way the remaind part got more skin, so it became darker. The deflated wine was used as a fruity, fresh Siller wine, for every consumption.

"Sógor"

Characterization:

Our basic Kadarka has primary flavours, easy texture, with harmony of the acidity and spices.
Easy and engaging appearance, youthful in the glass. Intensive spicy fragrance, impressive and diverse. These spices go on in taste, with fresh, red berried fruit flavours. It has a flavour of raspberry syrup, very easy to drink. Excellent Kadarka for every day consumption.

My mother’s forefathers are in the picture of a harvest in 1935. Aszalai Sógor (Brother-in-law) is standing in the middle, who emerged from our peasant family as a wine-merchant and  who was always cravatted even at harvest time. Szöszke Sógor, who is riding the horse, was the grandfather of our winemaker, Laci Pálinkás, and there are their wives as well, the Gránicz sisters, and by the way, among them, my grandmother … János Eszterbauer

"Nagyapám"

Characterization:

Recalling the past and our grandfathers is possible only with Kadarka. If we introduce the special – and very different from the famous varieties -characteristics of this type to the world, it might have a great future. We work on this.
Intensive, engaging, mainly raspberry, candy and punch fragrance. These fruits and spices go on in taste, fine and round, fluent, as we expect from a Kadarka. Charming, nice, harmonic wine.

Above all other wines, my grandfather (Nagyapám) loved to drink the Kadarka of Szekszárd, still cool, straight from barrel. Harvested from our oldest vineyards this exuberant, jasmine and raspberry scented rendition was made in his honour…János Eszterbauer.

"Pinceátlag"

Szekszárdi Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Kékfrankos, Kadarka, Pinot Noir Cuvée

This piece was designed to be the base-line of the cellar. Our goal is to produce the best value, and easily understandable wine. The presence of the different pieces and the mildness of the wines and wine-areas of Szekszárd represent together the velvety harmony.

Characterization:

Smoky and peppery frangrance with a hint of nutmeg, but the fruitness (cherry and currant) is very intensive too. Persistent aroma, pleasant appereance. The light structure of the acidity and tannins and the fruity aromas give an easily drinkable wine.

This photo was taken from my great-grandfather in the foreground of the wine-press house in 1930, with a friendly gathering, tasting the wines of the cellar. It was then, when the meaning of the spoken word was the same for everybody, when the measure was the worth and respect for each other was the natural behaviour…János Eszterbauer.

"Tanyamacska"

Szekszárdi Kékfrankos

Kékfrankos is a compulsory genre in Szekszárd, very important, not only for this wine region, but the whole Hungarian wine production. It is the only possibility to break-out in the competition of the worldwide known varieties.

Characterization:

Representative Kékfrankos of Szekszárd, which shows us the typical fruity and acidic aromas of this character and the mildness lying in the wine region. Rich in tannins, preserve the fruity aromas for long. Very good Kékfrankos from an excellent year.

Long time ago those old farmers of Szekszárd who spent most of their time in the cellar, even if it wasn’t necessary, were called Tanymacska (Cellar Cat). This was the name of our forefather in the picture from the 1930’s, who was the common great-grandfather of the owner, János Eszterbauer and the winemaker, Laci Pálinkás. ….János Eszterbauer

"Tüke"

The origin and the history of Bulls-Blood obligates, there is no cellar in Szekszárd without this wine. Our goal is to make a concentrated, big-bodied, elegant wine from selected, best quality wine-grapes.

Characterization:

You can enjoy the auspicious effects of the fine tannins - retrieved with traditional processing -, and the 14 month barrel mellowing. Breezy acidity, textured finish. Selected grapes from Kékfrankos, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Pinot Noir and from Kadarka.

My great-grandfather is in this photo. He was on of the determinative character of Szekszárd’s farmerburgess world. His father (my greatgreat- grandfather) was the judge of the city (1867), himself was one of the representatives of the city in the 1910s, hostage of the communist dictatorship in 1919, and one of the founders of the nationwide known and reputable “Szekszárd’s Cellar Alliance”. And one of the “Tüke”wine-growers of Szekszárd, from whom we inherited the Bulls-Blood too…János Eszterbauer.

We designed this Bordeaux combination to be the one of the best pieces of our wine-growing.

Characterization:

Intensive colour and fragrance. First impression: black forest fruits, plum jam and licorice. Harmonic use of the barrel, fine aromas, vanilla, sweet spices, a little chocolate and coco. Flawless tannins, big body, very dense wine. It is hard to compete with the richness of the flavour. If the elegance of the wine improves during the next few years, we will hardly find a fault in it. "The wine of our master, the master of our winemaker"

In the label you can see the contour of the grandfather and – simultaneously – master of the wine-maker, Laci Pálinkás.  Szöszke Sógor (Blonde-Brother-in-law) was brother-in-law of my grandfather. He produced great wines, there was always order and cleanliness in his cellar, as we remember. My friend Laci could thank him the skill - besides his own talent and studies - , to be able to help successfully with the work of our wine-growing…János Eszterbauer.

"Tivald"

Szekszárdi Cabernet Sauvignon

Characterization:

Deep and dark colours, temperate flavour, but very rich. It has the aroma of blackberry and blueberry, there is a hint of dark chocolate and cherry brandy. Very strong in the mouth, but pleasant tannins, pepper and sweet spices. The alcohol is understandably high, but it can’t ruin the structure, it has a matured and rich body. The use of the barrel is very nice. Takes a long leave with very rich taste…Pécsi Borozó Wine Magazine.

I remember to Tivald, who was the day-labourer of my grandfather. He appears in the label of the most outstanding product of our cellar. He was always unshaved, slovenly, and anguished by the scythe, and hoe, and the heet of summer. I was – wrongly - contemptuous of him, when I was a child, but for an honourable mention for his work this is the most beautiful label for him…János Eszterbauer.
